When you decide to remodel or renovate, you take the first step of an exciting process. The reason of the decision is usually a need or a desire.Let us make this process as simple and straightforward as possible for you.

Initial Meeting

We value trust in our relationship. Your first meeting with AWC will be based on establishing trust necessary to ensure your satisfaction of the remodeling process. We will listen to your ideas, needs, wants and desires. Rest assured that you and your home will be treated as if it was our own. We would like to have a clear understanding of what you want to accomplish with remodeling. At this point, it is determined what extent of blueprints is necessary for your project. Sometimes only a draftsperson for spaceplanningis enough whereas other times we might require full architectural blueprints. Usually there is more than one option to reach your goal, so it is our task to review your ideas and maybe come up with a more practical design which will fit your needs in a more affordable option. We encourage you to ask lots of questions and share your concerns. During the meeting we will discuss your budget, we will take measurements and photographs, build a tentative time frame and make recommendations.

Budget & Estimates

Having a budget in mind before proceeding with the design of your project is an important factor. We have to ensure that your expectations do not surplus your budget constraints. It is very hard to give an accurate initial estimate for remodels because each project is custom. Still we try to compare your project to the previous projects we have completed to get a budget range. Coming up with a budget is a helpful reference for us in the design process.

Design

A draftperson or an architect might be required for your project. In this case, another meeting will be arranged to present the ideas to that person so they can go ahead and work on the first plans. After their review of the project, we will give you a design agreement that shows the costs for the blueprints. It is your choice to have the plans drawn but we believe it is important to see them because you will be able to know what your project will look like and also we will be able to give a detailed and accurate estimate on your project. This process can take longer than expected as there will be a few meetings to have the plans finalized. It will start with a floor plan and an elevation. Then if a second set is necessary, it will include updates from the first plans and additional details. The final set will consist of all the details and elevations that we need for a precise estimate, and they will be submitted upon your approval. The time period for this process depends on the project size and also the schedule of the people involved. Therefore we recommend you to spare sufficient time prior to the project start date in your mind.

Bidding

There will be a construction diagnostic meeting at your home after the final plans are approved. In this step, we will meet with our subcontractors and vendors to discuss the project for a more detailed estimate and to evaluate any possible challenges that may not be visible on the blueprints. You don’t have to be present during the meeting but it will be an opportunity for you to ask/answer questions. This is a vital meeting in our opinion to help avoid change orders for things that may not be shown on the blueprints. First you will receive an initial proposal without specific details because it could take up to 20 hours to prepare full specifications, therefore we would like to know that you are satisfied with the bid before going on to the full specifications. After you agree with our defined scope of work,AWC will present you a detailed estimate of your project for a review. Rest assured that we will answer any questions you have about details of the project before you make your final decision.

Contract Signing

We will set a start date and a preconstruction conference will be held at your home once you decide to proceed with your project. The starting date depends on the time it will take to receive the materials for your project as well as your availability. You can find answers to any further questions you have regarding the details and also we will ask you questions about the project schedule. This will allow us to know what furniture or items need to be moved, and also let us find out the ways we may be able to lessen the impact of remodeling on your daily life. If there are any changes or clarifications made at the conference, they will be included in the final project specifications that you will receive with the contract and other required documents. The project is scheduled to start when the contract is signed and initial payment is received.

Schedule & Progress

Every project is one of a kind regarding the process. The schedule depends on the type of the project itself. Usually, the first step could be the removal of appliances in your kitchen. We will deliver you a tentative schedule so you will have an idea of what is next as the project continues. The better you understand the steps, the more comfortable you will be that your expectations will be matched. Our team is always available to help you with any questions. The construction phase of your remodel can be a stressful time. We want you to sit back and follow the progress as your ideas and desires turn into reality. We will provide you daily updates and also maintain the cleanest and safest job site possible to ensure your total satisfaction.

Client Concerns

One of the biggest concerns for people who decide to remodel is that they are going to face extra costs at the end of the project. AWC eliminates this over the project estimate conference. We are aware that every project is unique so we prepare our estimates independently. Even though it takes a longer process, it is the only way to maintain accuracy so our clients will avoid paying extras. It is our duty to make sure all aspects of the project are considered and nothing is left out in the bid. Our experience allows us to know possible issues that might occur during a remodel. We choose our team
membersbased on their attention to detail, professionalism, quality of work and customer service during and after the project. If you come up with any change that was not included in the project estimate, our estimator will create a change order for you to see the cost before proceeding. We also inform you on your allowance options and provide you an allowance sheet so you can see where you stand during the project.

Completion

The goal of AWC is to leave you 100% satisfied after our work. Our team will work to match and even exceed your expectations. A few days before the job is completed, we will have a walk through the renovation with you and create a list of items that has to be done. After everything is finished, you will be provided with an information package as well as an opportunity to feedback. The information will be about the products used in your remodel and also about cleaning and care of specific products. As our main goal is customer satisfaction, we will provide a complimentary check-up six months after the job is done. We will arrange a walk through with you at your home to ensure that our work is keeping up with our high standards and to see if any adjustments are required.
